sometimes, no matter how you prepare for a shoot, there are challenges ahead which you may not be aware of. weather, location, permits and even language are key ingredients of a deliciously-cooked shoot. just like marriage, it usually starts with a very organized and well-planned wedding, with all the details and preparations to make it perfect. but along the way, there are always odds to beat, problems to face and puzzles to solve. what actually matters is how you face them and make use of those challenges for you to explore other ways and make something beautiful and memorable from it.
shooting this engagement session is so far one of the most challenging i had. i experienced shooting a post-wedding session in paris, just few hours after my arrival from a very long flight. just imagine jet lag, sleepy and hungry. i also experienced missing a flight for a supposed to be morning e-session in vegas and a lot of ‘beyond my control’ scenarios. but what made this extraordinary are the combined factors.
it was raining the whole time, plus the driver of the car that we rented doesn’t even understand a single english word plus the locations were far and even unfamiliar to our supposed to be ‘tour guide’. challenges overload actually, but what really inspired me to still do and push my limits even if it would require me to literally get wet was my couple’s effort of giving me a location which is not usual.
